Determine the iPad model you own.

Look up the model number.

To figure out which iPad model you have, look up the model number. There are two ways to find the model number:

• Take a look at the iPad's rear.

• Open Settings and select About from the drop-down menu. In the top part, look for the model number. The part number (for example, MY3K2LL/A) is indicated by a slash "/" in the number. 

• To discover the model number, tap the component number, which consists of a letter followed by four numbers and no slash (for example, A2342).
